Why we still write the brief first.

A one-page scope document, signed, is the cheapest risk reduction available. We walk through an actual brief — lightly redacted — and the decisions that followed it over the next fourteen weeks. The discipline is not in the writing; it is in the refusal to start building until both parties have initialled the page.

The 300ms budget.

We set a hard cap on perceived latency. By week three every engineer carried a stopwatch in their pocket — literal, not metaphorical.

TL;DR
Hard latency caps beat soft targets. Enforce at the CDN, not in code review.

Kanpus TR in ten weeks.

One designer, one engineer, one product manager. The scope document was four pages. The launch post-mortem was shorter than the brief.
Trendlast 10 pts
6 min · 201 readHover to flip →
TL;DR
Small teams ship faster when the scope is signed early and never re-litigated.

What "no handoffs" means.

Design and engineering share the same file, the same standup, the same bug. A handoff is a moment of translation; we refuse to translate.
Aslı M., author
3 min · 64 readHover to flip →
TL;DR
No handoffs = no translation layer. Everyone reads the same Figma and the same PR.

Design systems are documents.

Treat your system as a living document, not a shipped product. A product needs a roadmap; a document needs an editor.
Orkun A., author

TL;DR
Systems are docs, not products. Assign an editor, not a PM.

On-call in a two-person team.

A disciplined pager rotation kept a 24/7 product running without burning anyone out. The secret was the handover script, not the technology.
Nil Y., author
5 min · 52 readHover to flip →
TL;DR
The handover script matters more than the paging tool. Write it down.

Scope creep is a smell.

A taxonomy of the requests that show up in week four, and the polite scripts that keep them from becoming week five.
Orkun A., author
7 min · 119 readHover to flip →
TL;DR
Every creep request is a signal. Log them. Answer weekly, not daily.

Our archive is public-adjacent.

We write internal post-mortems expecting that one day they will be external reading. The mindset improves the writing before the publishing.
Batuhan K., author
4 min · 78 readHover to flip →
TL;DR
Write internal like it might go external. Discipline is cheap.

§ On the record
“Adaxy treated our launch like their own. We were shipping by week four and profitable by week sixteen. The level of written detail in scoping is unusual — and paid off every single sprint.”
— K. Yılmaz, Founder, Kanpus Edu.
